Fixing poorly-repaired trim
Hello. My house is around 100 years old. The previous owners removed valances from all the living room and dining room windows and then repaired the trim like this. I’m assuming they smeared either spackle or wood filler into the trim and then covered it in paint.
I’m planning on cleaning this up with wood rasps and sandpaper. Is there any other better way of doing this? I want to avoid power tools because I know there’s lead paint underneath.
